Hesperides (Greek)

In Greek mythology, the Hesperides are the nymphs of evening and golden light of sunsets, who were the "Daughters of the Evening" or "Nymphs of the West". They were also called the Atlantides from their reputed father, Atlas. It was usually thought that there were three Hesperides, although some sources name four or seven. They were responsible of taking care of a garden in the western end of the world, near the Atlas mountains in Africa.

The Hesperides were entrusted with the care of the tree of the golden apples which was had been presented to the goddess Hera by Gaia on her wedding day. They were assisted by a hundred-headed guardian Dragon. he Hesperides were also the keepers of other treasures of the gods.
