Langmeidong (Meitei mythology)
Once there was a young girl and her mother had passed away when she was very young, and her stepmother was very cruel to her whenever her father was away. So every day, she collected feathers from the langmeidong birds by the lake, until she had enough to stitch them to her body, leaving this world and her anguished father behind by becoming a langmeidong herself.
