N-dam-keno-wet (Abenaki)
A creature from the North American Abenaki tribe folklore. It is important to note that it is not a merbeing but rather a mixture of body parts both fish and man, though there is usually a tendency for the face to be that of a small human's. However little else is known about this creature except that of its favourite past time – molesting women in the baths.
The N-dam-keno-wet is quite tame compared some Native American monsters. Like most mermaid creatures he is half man and half fish. He has a slender face and likes to live in streams and lakes where women frequently bathe. To get rid of a N-dam-keno-wet you have to steal his clothing. This will render him powerless and he will loose his swimming ability.
