Vanara (Hindu)

Vanara popularly refers to a group of monkey-like humanoids in the Hindu-Buddhist epic the Ramayana who were brave and inquisitive by nature. The term Vanara can be described as forest-dweller. Vanaras are normally slightly shorter than the average human. They are covered in a thin coat of short fur that can be a variety of colours.

Despite being covered in fur vanaras still grow lengthy hair on their head. A vanara's fur and hair match in color, save for those with pale hair known as "whitecapes". A vanara stands slightly shorter and weighs slightly less than a typical human.
